Dear Sadharmik Brothers and Sisters,
Jai Jinendra,
Wish you Happy Deepawali and a Prosperous New Year.
Jain Center of America will be celebrating
our 2021 Deepawali Festival from:
Tuesday, Nov 2nd to Friday, Nov 5th, 2021
Deepawali has a very special significance in our Jain religion. On this day Bhagwan Mahaveer, our 24th Jain Tirthankar, attained Nirvana or Moksh (liberation) at Pavapuri in 527 BCE, on Chaturdashi of Aasho month, and the following day, his chief disciple Ganadhara Gautam Swami attained Kevalgyan, which marks the beginning of our Jain New Year - Veer Samvat 2548.
